Kvie Sø, Skovlund, Ansager, Sig

Kvie Sø

The popular Kvie Lake is just north of Ansager in beautiful surroundings. Kvie Lake functions in summer as the area’s swimming beach. The lake has a sandy bottom and good quality water, and is shallow, which makes it especially suitable for swimming, particularly for small children. There is an excellent playground for the children on the “beach”.

There is a camping site with huts for rent, and there is also a pancake house with a view over the lake. East of the lake is a summer holiday cottage area with 170 cottages.

There are 2.5 and 3.5 km hiking paths.

Between Skovlund and Ansager is the river Grindsted Å, which joins Ansager Å to form the river Varde Å.

Skovlund

The town park with forest, lake and fireplace is near the centre of Skovlund. The park also has a meeting place, a playground, petanque courses and croquet fields. The forest and the park are next to the sports centre, where there are playing fields, a tennis court and a hopping pillow.

Karlsgårde Sø

Close to Sig is Karlsgårde Lake, into which flow the rivers Holme Å and Varde Å via a 17 km canal system. The Karlsgårde power plant, Denmark’s second biggest hydroelectric plant, is at the lake.
