Ølgod

Ølgod is known as an enterprising town with good shopping and numerous jobs in agriculture, industry, trade and commerce.
The area is now home to modern agriculture with numerous farm animals and industrial companies, the biggest and best-known of which is the kitchen factory HTH Køkkenfabrik.

Shops and restaurants are open all year, offering locals and visitors a good bargain and a good experience, and the newly opened brewery Ølgod Bryghus serves the fine local beer on weekends.

Ølgod Museum

In Ølgod Museum there is an exhibition that displays what the museum has collected, registered and preserved over the past 55 years from the Ølgod district´s history in the period 1850 - 1900.
The world’s first cooperative dairy Hjedding Andelsmejeri started in 1882. The building is now a museum relating the history of an area where initiative and enterprise are keywords.

Ol-Guth

“Ølgod” is first encountered as a name in connection with the building of churches around 1200. The origin and meaning of the name are unknown, but there’s no doubt that it has a religious significance under the name Ol-Guth.

Farmers found the Ølgod area attractive way back in prehistoric times, and over 500 burial mounds in the area bear witness to the history of the community of the time.
