Nymindegab, Houstrup, Lønne, Blåbjerg
Nymindegab Nymindegab was originally a little fishing hamlet at the southern end of Ringkøbing fjord. The old fishing hamlet is now a peaceful and popular holiday area with broad white sandy beaches, high dunes and a long way to the sky. Over the years the area has attracted numerous painters, who have found inspiration in the very special environment and the delightful landscape.  The inn Nymindegab Kro lies at the top of a dune with a fantastic view. The inn has a long tradition as a roadside inn, and it also used to be a gathering place for the area’s many artists.  It’s possible to visit the traditional fishermen’s huts just below Nymindegab Kro. These huts were used to prepare fishing nets and to store fishing implements as well as a residence for the girls whose job was to bait the fishing lines. Three of these huts have now been restored as exact copies of the originals which were moved to the open air museum in Copenhagen. Beside the whale house is Nymindegab Museum and open air area where there are re-enactments and guided tours in the area during the holidays, so it’s possible to see how people at the west coast lived 100 years ago.

Houstrup Houstrup is a delightful area in peaceful surroundings right next to the attractive Blåbjerg dune plantation, a large protected nature area with magnificent dunes, blue lakes, heather-covered areas and varying forest, where you can explore, pick berries, mushrooms and plants, or simply experience nature at “close quarters”.  Just a few kilometres from Houstrup is the long white sandy beach which is ideal for swimming, walking and kite flying.
Blaabjerg Blåbjerg dune plantation is the ideal destination for an outing if you would like to walk, cycle or ride on horseback in this beautiful area.  Blåbjerg, Denmark’s highest dune, lies in the middle of Blåbjerg dune plantation, 64 metres above sea level. Lønne
 Lønne is close to the North Sea’s delightful sandy beaches and Ringkøbing Fjord as well as dune, heath and plantation areas. The beautiful natural environment invites you to enjoy lots of outdoor activities such as hiking and cycle tours, windsurfing, sailing and swimming. Lønne is a peaceful holiday spot only a few kilometres from good shopping.
 The holiday centre Sea West at Lønne offers a wealth of activities for both adults and children. The centre has a big subtropical waterland, wellness, bowling, indoor minigolf, giant hopping pillow, basketball and table tennis, so there’s no shortage of options for an active holiday.
